I am, as they say, “searching for my next adventure” right now. I won’t write a description here of my job search – plenty of others have written about the time spent perusing job posts and trying to be strategic in our responses.
I have seen several job posts over the last month or so that have given me that jump of recognition. Yes! I would love this job at this or that specific company! But will anything come of my applications? Only time will tell.
Recently I saw a job post that stuck in my mind. Sincere posted a “Dream Job Challenge” where they invite job searchers to pitch them on the job they would want at Sincere. You would have to define your title, your responsibilities and the added value you bring to their company. (By the way, if you’re in the Boston area, check them out – they look like a great company to work for!)
I love this idea! It got me thinking: What would my ideal job post actually look like? And so, I sat down and gave it a good blue sky think before coming up with my “Dream Job” description.

Key Responsibilities:
Creative Development & Direction
Lead the conceptualization and execution of immersive entertainment experiences for live events, digital media, and hybrid formats.
Oversee narrative and interactive elements, ensuring they enhance audience engagement and emotional connection.
Direct the integration of sensory and multimedia elements, such as lighting, projection mapping, and sound design.
Live & Theatrical Experience Design
Develop large-scale productions that seamlessly blend live performance, media, and audience participation.
Collaborate with designers, performers, and technical teams to craft memorable, immersive moments.
Ensure experiences align with client goals, brand storytelling, and audience expectations.
Interactive & Multi-Platform Storytelling
Lead the development of interactive and experiential content across multiple platforms, from in-person activations to digital extensions.
Guide game design teams and interactive media specialists in shaping audience-driven engagement strategies.
Shape innovative storytelling techniques that enhance immersion and audience agency.
Project Leadership & Team Collaboration
Direct cross-functional teams, including designers, writers, and technologists, to bring creative concepts to fruition.
Provide leadership in aligning creative vision with production feasibility, timeline, and budget constraints.
Translate research on audience psychology and engagement into compelling, interactive experiences.
Key Qualifications:
Proven experience in immersive storytelling, live entertainment, and interactive experience direction.
Strong ability to lead design teams and interactive media specialists, ensuring engaging and innovative results.
Expertise in experience design, audience engagement, and theatrical/live production.
Ability to bridge technology and storytelling to craft engaging, multi-sensory experiences.
Experience in directing multi-platform experiences, from live productions to interactive installations.
Passion for creating emotionally resonant, audience-driven experiences that leave a lasting impact.
