Creative & Narrative Direction

I have been in the original French casts of numerous musicals starting with my first experience as a booth singer in Cats.

 

Since then I have sung the merits of mud baths in Nine, manned the barricades in Les Miserables, and traumatized my child as a neurotic stage mother in C’est Pas La Vie? commissioned by the Avignon Theatre Festival. As the Baroness in Offenbach’s La Vie Parisienne, I sashayed across the Bercy Stadium to audiences of 15,000 and I wore ribbons down my back as Mrs. Malloy in Hello Dolly! with Liliane Montevecchi. I gleefully poisoned my fellow cast members as Lucretia Borgia in The Monsters' Banquet, waved my baton as Sweet Sue in Sugar and ate dozens of oysters in Serge Valetti's Tentative d'Operette en Dingochine in the role of the Diva. As a serial killer, I was terrorized by ghosts in L’Ultime Rendez-Vous and I turned a pumpkin into a coach as the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella. 

I was thrilled to be invited to participate in the BBC Prom, Sondheim at 80 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, finding myself on stage with such wonderful artists as Dame Judy Dench, Julian Ovenden, Bryn Terfel and, of course... the birthday boy himself!

More recently I discovered the joys of a visit to the library as Illona in She Loves Me, I baked some of the worst pies in London in Sweeney Todd as Mrs. Lovett and I "got hep" as Mrs. Wade in Wonderful Town. 

 

As for this year... I've been rapping my heart out as the witch in Into the Woods!
